Summer Reading 2009
Be Creative @ The Nezperce Community Library
A total of 80 children from preschool through sixth grade registered at the Nezperce Community Library for the Summer Reading Program “Be Creative @ the Nezperce Community Library”. (see Teen Summer Reading 2009 for their informaton) A total of 60 of those signing up completed ALL six weeks of the program. The children participated in the different activity sessions (see all pictures below). For the final session of programs, a picnic was held at the Memorial Park with 35 kids of ALL ages participating in sidewalk painting art, making their own bookmarks, making masks, follow the leader, dancing, a lunch of hot dogs and ice cream. Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and older siblings joined in with the fun as well. Everyone had a GREAT time with a final event of the day - the water balloon toss. Not only did it serve to cool everyone off on a VERY warm day, but to help wash off the ice cream cone drips and spills.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE THIS SUMMER
Art in the Park
Lots of kids and adults gathered in Memorial Park for 2 hours of fun and art. They danced, pounded flower petals into fabric then framed their art, painted rocks (& a few faces), decorated masks on a stick and created their very own feet paint art.
